MURALISSIMO AT THE PIAZZA
October is Mural Arts Month in Philadelphia and Muralissimo at the Piazza was held this afternoon to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Mural Arts Program in the city of brotherly love, now the largest mural arts program in the world. Founder Jane Golden was on hand to partake in the events and all seemed to be truly enjoying themselves with myriad activities from pumpkin painting, to a DJ spinning old school hip-hop music, to a slide show of all the murals around Philadelphia, to fantastic live, interactive children’s music. The atmosphere was both relaxed and lively as moms and dads, kids and grandparents came out to enjoy the festival, sample some Saxby’s coffee and browse goods from over 30 artists, crafters, and designers including Tyler School of Art’s glassblowing program’s hand-blown glass pumpkins just in time for the fall season. The Piazza would like to thank Mural Arts for bringing such a great event here and we look forward to working with them in the future!
